Open Question: Ipod touch-Is not working ! **HELP**?
Just brought my new Ipod touch home last night and Im thinking my computer is not downloading correctly. There is a pop up after trying to download that says, "Unable to dowload, "windows has blocked your from downloading" I turned off my pop ups, and dont know what else to do. My ipod touch is just a blank screen, every it shows is usb cord and a disk with a music note on top of it. I have no main screen with every the square icons that you can touch away....The directions told me to go to www.itunes/download to download latest ?? but my computer wont let me. My computer is "Windows Vista", which says it is ok ....but have a feeling I may be in trouble with no where to go. Do you think I can use someones elses computer to receive me started.? Open Question: can you help me with iPhotos?
i have the apple computer.. and i use iphotos. i had a ton of pics in there, and today i finally made some albums and separated every of the pictures. and it worked.. every the pics are in the albums i want them to be in. but they are also below the file "library" and last time i brought up iphotos it said something about rearanging my thumbnails cashe... or it was advised to do something with my thumbnail cashe... what does that mean.. how do i do it.. and is it talking about how alll the pics are in 'library' also?? ... how do i receive them out of the library folder.. and just into the albums? ... and what does that "advised to rearrange thumbnail cashe" mean... how do i fix it?

Kernel panic? ummmm.....I need some advice....has anyone ever experiecned or came over a similar incident? It happend once in the middle of december when I was playing "chopper" in which I downloaded from the apple website...every of a sudden there was a beep, and a tiny screen came up saying that I had to restart my computer!!! Then when I turned it off by pressing the power button...then on again....it said "mac os quitted unexpectedly" This happened twice that day....another when I tried to use parallels.... I ended up unistalling the game. THere was "peace" for a while everything worked perfectly...until today......while I left my computer on for some time and the screen saver was on....it happened again (except no "beep")! Its not really an issue...cuz now everythings back to normal and works flawlessly. But, I'm wondering should I take the incidents more seriously? Open Question: Questions about getting a macbook?
Alright, so i have been doing hours of research on laptops for the past few weeks and i have finally decided to receive an apple macbook. It took me a while to arrive to that conclusion considering HP has a model out that has a 400gb difficult steer and 4gb of memory for only around 800. But after talking to a person from apple's instant support (which believe it or not is actually instant)(Dell you could learn from them), they convinced me that getting a macbook would be better. Why? because they have way better american based support, every of their products are made from them, not like PCs where the difficult steer comes from one place, and everything else is from every over the world, also macbooks tend to last longer without slowing down. So, with that every figured out i am looking to buy. I could easily buy it from the place i work and keep a couple dollars (really it would not be that much at every) where i would receive 2.4ghz 2GB memory and a 250gb hardrive (i think). Now i will be using this laptop for school, music, movies, and some games, maybe like sims 3 when that comes out (and i would like to play high settings). So, i could receive one from work OR order one from the apple store online. If i did that i could upgrade the memory to 4gb, and the difficult steer to 320gb. I am considering buying it online, overall it will be pretty expensive but i want a good computer that well last a long time and that i have peace of mind knowing the support would be great. Ok, so for my needs, School, music, gaming, and movies (both watching and making) which mac should i receive? What nice of specs should i receive? Like how much memory, how big a difficult steer? Right now on my PC i have 1.5gb of memory and i have used maybe like 15% but i will be using this laptop for college and tons of other stuff. (It will be replacing and doing way more than my desktop). So please someone who has a Macbook or is a computer EXPERT, please give me some advice, or the specs i should receive for my laptop. I am very excited to receive one so please answer soon and dont be afraid to go into detail in your answer. Thanks alot and please only answer if you have something smart to say, no PC rules! Unless you have great information to back that up and convince me to buy one.

Open Question: external hard drives & music...what to buy?
first off, let me say that i am not good with every the technical jargon of computers...if you start talking in weird words or abbreviations, you'll lose me. i have an insane amount of music on my computer, so i guess that would be on my internal difficult steer (whatever the main one is). but it's slowing down my computer and taking up way too much space. one of my friends told me that he has an external difficult steer that he keeps every of his music on so that it doesn't take up space on his computer. i want to do this too, but i don't know what to buy. the music is on a dell desktop, but when i receive a laptop, i'm getting an apple, so the external difficult steer needs to work for both types. i really don't want to spend a lot of money...just something that can hold my music so that it doesn't take up space on my main computer. i don't mind if it's cheap or whatever, just as long as it won't screw over my music or my main computer. so please, give me links to external difficult drives that would be good for me to buy. and if you want to tell me how to use it or any other special advice (because i really don't know anything about this nice of thing...), please feel free.

Omg, please help me w| itunes download !? i got a new ipod shuffle for christmas & i'm excited, but how the heck am i suppose to download the itunes program? i went to the site & downloaded it, and it came w| the (quicktime player] .. then it recommended that i download the (apple software update] - okay uhm so i did & it found 3 new updates including 'safari' & 'mobileme' or something like that. -also, i plugged in the usb cord that came w| my ipod shuffle & this bubble popped up saying that it found the new software & that my ipod was ready for use ! now i clicked on itunes, but this box just came up & then it left. like - it came up REALLY quick & then popped away .. not even giving me time to read anything ! what the heck is wrong w| my computer ? or better yet - the itunes 8.0 do i need to download something to clean up my computer or anything? -please only answer if you can help ! 7 minutes ago - 3 days left to answer. The popup says "this ipod cannot be used because the apple mobile device has not been started" this is making me mad cause i got it for christmas and its not working. Resolved Question: how do i connect to a local network only?
i have an extra computer that i want to use as a server (it's running vista), i only want to connect it to the wireless network i have set up, but i don't want it to connect to the internet. i have no option for wired since i'm 2 floors from the router. the reason behind this is that i want to access its difficult steer from anywhere in the home with my laptop, and maybe media centre extenders or apple tvs in the future. on a side note, is it possible to run a wireless network only with internet service at every? (like a local LAN but wireless)

Hi, I have a PC Desktop and a PC laptop and it is time to upgrade my Desktop PC (i.e. my desktop is old). I have Vista on my Laptop and '98 on my Desktop. Anyway I think I am going to receive a Mac (Most likely iMac). What is every the hardware and software you would recommend getting when i purchase my Mac. Resolved Question: New Ipod Touch(2nd Gen.) ?
I recently got a 2nd generation Ipod Touch. After about a third or fourth of the battery is gone it randomly turns off(either that or it blacks out) while I am using it. Then when I try to turn it back on, it shows the apple logo for a few seconds and then turns back off. I have found that after plugging it in to the computer will cause it to repeatedly show the apple logo then turn off several times before turning on and charging. After charging completely it is fine but it is very inconvenient to have to do this. Can anyone help? I would like to know what the problem is and what course of action I should take.

Open Question: I am attempting to use QuickPWN to jailbreak my iPod touch 2.2. See details.?
I'm on Windows Vista. Whenever I attempt to use the update files in quickpwn (directory is "C:\Users\James\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates". If this is wrong, tell me, but this is where i found every of the .ispw's) I receive an mistake message saying " The ISPW file you selected (_2.2) does not match the firmware version of your device (iPod1,1_2.2). Please note that QuickPwn does not upgrade your firmware, it only jailbreaks whatever firmware you currently have on your device", yet this must be the correct firmware because it is from my device. If you are not very 'tech-savvy", or you do not know what you are talking about, don't answer.

Open Question: iPod Touch App store question?
Hey guys, I received a $50 gift card to use on anything for iPods, and I wanted to buy a simple app for my touch. So I cashed in my $50 and noticed it wouldn't let me buy any apps because I hadn't entered in a "method of payment" (credit card information) on my account. So I also had a $25 Visa card which I got for christmas also and entered in that information. iTunes accepted that information and let me download the app. So I just went to the app store again to download another app and it said "There is a billing problem with a previous purchase" I log on to my account via iTunes on my computer and check billing information. The application didn't charge on to my account which still has $50 OR my $25 Visa! There's a button that says "You have sufficient credits to pay your outstanding balance" and when ever I go to click it to pay, it does nothing! This is getting me mad since I've already have had a lot of frustration with Apple already...help!?

Ok, i have a Mac computer but most of my friends have windows...if there is a bunch of us with web cameras we want to do a multi video chat thing w/ 3 or more of us and ichat won't allow non apple users to join...does anyone know of a free program we can use for this ? mac AND pc capable? thank you

Open Question: IPOD Nano Doesn't seem to be recognized by my WIN xp Pro Computer?
My Daughter was given an 8 gig Ipod Nano....Used and apparently works fine, BUT the computer doesn't look it. We loaded the latest IPOD software and nothing seems to change. We can't sink it or anything. Why doesn't windows look it as another storage device. Ignorant about Apple and Mac stuff. Not sure what to do. Any help would be appreciated. I installed Itunes (the latest version)! Nothing happens. Itunes DOES NOT look THE IPOD! need help The Itunes help is NOT GOOD! To be polite....I have reset the ipod and put it in disk mode and everything I can think of. The Itunes software doesnt allow you to sync it. It is as if it didn't exist. The USB port works fine. Can't figure this out.

Open Question: i cant figure out how to reformat my 2 gb sd cards?
the cards say they are full when there not, i have a apple computer and a 2.0 card reader ? some body told me to reformat them.i use it for nuvi gps for music . thanks so much i would hate to have to buy two more new ones.

Open Question: how do you add more apps to your ipod touch from your computer without replacing your old ones?
that is the only reason why i dont like ipod, this stupid idea that apple had so you cant just add more music to your ipod if your on a different computer than the one you dont normally use!!! you have to replace it with the music you want to add. i want to add some apps but it wont let me add with erasing every the others forever??? please help me?!?!?

Open Question: Mac Computers??????? (i hate mine)?
okay my mac computer, it has a battery in it and when i look up in the corner, it says it has no battery. i have to have it on charge whenever i use it, or it turns off. this is the 3rd time this has happened to me. the same thing happened to my iPod, but it "healed" i had to receive new batteries for the laptop though. is it just me or do you hate apple too? i know it hates me haha.

i have and apple imac computer (the 'every in one')...can i use a wireless router(or whatev its called)and card w/ it to receive internet, or do i have to receive a cable? what type would i have to receive? i have tried looking online for something, but i have no idea what i should be looking for.

Apple (Record company, Computers), Orange (telecoms), Mango (Clothing), Limewire (Software), Banana Republic (Clothing)... every of them named after a fruit. An advertising website explains that name recall is the reason.

Open Question: itunes authorization problem.. help?
Everytime I try to sync my purchases to the Apple TV, this comes up... Some of the items in the Itunes library, including “Decode (Band Performance Version)”, were not copied to the Apple TV because the Apple TV could not contact the iTunes Store to authorize. Please check your Internet connection, or try again later. I'm not sure what to do. I did try again later a couple of times and I think that the internet connection is fine because I can receive on any website or purchase anything on itunes. I also tried to re-authorize the account onto the computer I am using now. The weird thing is that some of my recent purchases can sync, just not every of it. Any advice on what I can do?? Thanks.

Open Question: my ipod wont connect to my computer!?
okay my computer is really slow. and i deleted some things from it. i rememebr i deleted a thing called acrobat.com or something and i remember i deleted something called apple mobile devise or something like that i also deleted an adobe thing i believe it made my youtube work again. but now my ipod wont connect to my computer. and idk what to do. can someone please help me! i already restarted my computer to look if that would do anything and it didnt. like when i try and connect my ipod it makes a different noice not like the one it used to make. u know the noice something makes when u connect something to a usb thing it makes a diff one. like idk something wrong! please help!!!! oh and its a 120GB ipod classic the newest nice okay i connected my other ipod and it worked just fine. it connected and everything so i guess its the other ipod. what can i do to fix it?

Resolved Question: i spilt a pint of coke on my mac?!!?!?
ok so this was a year ago. but its never too tardy to ask lol :P ok so basically, last summer i spilt a whole pint of coke (full, i hadnt even taken a sip :|) every OVER MY MACBOOK. well, i certainly panicked. but anyways it still works, but only when it plugged in. as soon as you take the power cable out it turns off, instantly. the whole point of me getting a laptop was so i could take it everywhere and use it- you know what i mean. but its like a desktop computer now i cant take the plug out. :( does anyone know how i can fix it? or if i have to take it to the apple store, about how much will it cost? should i might as well receive a new one? i dont really know at every so please please help! thanks! but, i cant afford to buy a new one. i need actual HELP please, not stupid comments. sorry please thank you :)

Open Question: Does anyone know what is wrong with my Macbook?
I just bought my Macbook, and recently while I was using it it froze up. With admitted frustration I pressed down the power button until the computer close down. When I try to turn it back on every I receive is a gray screen, no Apple logo, no spinning cog. I reset the PRAM, and tried to start up from the installation disk, every with no results... I really need my computer back before the next semester starts, and being a needy college student, I don't have the funds for a big repair, so any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks =)

Resolved Question: I just bought an Apple iPod touch 8GB. I am having trouble figuring it out. HELP! ?
I went to www.apple.com/ipodtouch/guidedtour so I can look how to use this thing. I already have itunes downloaded on my computer and have already registered the ipod though itunes. Now I want to use al it features, like search the web and stuff. How do I do this? When I went to the web site I listed over it told me to download quiktime player. I do that. It said the download was complete. I went an clicked on view guided tour and it keeps saying for me to download quiktime even though I have already done this. Please help, I would really like to use my ipod today. Than you! What do I do if I don't have wireless internet? Doesn't the iPod borrow it from surrounding computers that have it?

my dad wants to receive a new laptop. he is convinced to receive an apple one, but i thought that they were confusing. we have never had a laptop ever and we always use a PC with windows vista. it wuld need to be something that he could figure out. and that's difficult becuz he is realllllly bad with computers. so please suggest anything u can think of.

Voting Question: what is the differences between Linux, windows vista, and mac?
i am curious which is the better processor. i hear vista kinda sucks. mac can't have decent games or that apple can't lower the price of macs. and Linux, well that its just out there. i'm not really a tech person even thought i use the computer constantly. also, i'm still deciding if i want to buy a laptop that has any of these processors since i'll be stuck at school for long periods of time because the laptop i have now is so heavy! sorry about the processor, i didn't know every were operating systems. did i mention that i am not a computer tech person. maybe i forgot the computer part, haha. i had to actually look up what OS was, haha. and i say i kinda sorta understand...thanks for clearing that up!

Voting Question: Annoying Apple support won't help me?
i got a new computer. I don't have access to my old computer. I didn't put any of my songs on CDs and I didn't put every of my songs on my ipod. When I click check available downloads it says I don't have any. How can I receive every of my songs back? I already called itunes and i got a Representative who had an accent that i couldn't understand and then told me that there was no way that I could receive my songs. I know there is a way because I got them before without using a cd of hardrive from my other old computer.

I wanna know what should I do in order to make the computers like new again. You know like a factory defult reset or something. With windows that is called reinstalling the operating system. Voting Question: i have a ipod touch problem...it wont turn on?
ok so my ipod touch wont turn on. it wont turn on no matter which buttons i push. it wont turn on when i plug it into computer. it only turns on when i sit it in my ipod player. when i take it out it goes off. the last time i used the ipod was on sunday and it had 10% battery life left. when i got home i forgot to plug it up so it could charge. when i leave it in the ipod player for a few hours and take it out the apple icon will arrive up for about 30 seconds and then it will turn off again. what should i do? should leave it in the ipod player over night and look what happens in the morning? please help me. ive only had this ipod for about 10 months....please and thank you
